Morganite ows its pink colour to traces of manganese in it the crystal lattice. Zambian morganites have a natural clean pink colour, without the orangy or brownish hues of morganites of other sources.

Our morganites originate from the mines of Chilume in the Lukusuzi area where it occurs in pegmatites together with aquamarine and tourmaline. Sometimes morganite, aquamarine or goshenite (colourless beryl) share the same crystal forming interestingly colour zoned stones.
